Empowering Women to Shape the Future: Child Caregiver, Parent Supporter Training Program
A pilot-program implemented in Gaziantep in 2023.
In January 2024, Zeru proudly hosted “Empowering Women to Shape the Future”, a caregiver and parent training program in Gaziantep, Türkiye.
This first phase brought together 16 dedicated educators and 30 courageous women, survivors of the devastating February 6, 2023 earthquake. Together, they embarked on a journey of healing, learning, and empowerment.
Focus Areas
Participants received comprehensive training in:
Childrearing practices
Early brain development
Early relational health
Strengthening caregiver-child relationships
Supporting trauma-informed growth for children and families
A Holistic Approach
The program also addressed:
Mothers’ and children’s physical and mental well-being
Community building and leadership
Economic independence for women
A Platform for Connection
Beyond skills training, this program became a space for sharing experiences, wisdom, and stories—fostering resilience and strengthening bonds within the community.
